How can I look up a vote cast by Congressman Levin?
These easy steps listed below will help you to look up a vote cast by Congressman Levin or any other member. Note: You may want to read all of the steps before clicking on the appropriate links.
Visit the Clerk's Roll Call Vote webpage for the current Congress. On this page, the far left column labeled "Roll" will give you the number of the roll call vote. Moving to the column on the right, you will see the date the vote was cast.
The "Question" column will tell you if the vote was on final passage, on an amendment, or as otherwise noted. The "Result" is the outcome of the measure: P=passed, F=failed, and A=the amendment was agreed to. The column on the far right tells you the title/description of the measure. All votes are posted in reverse chronological order (most recent at the top).
Click on the appropriate "Roll" number on the same row as the title/description that you are interested in. If it is an older vote that you are interested in (must be in the same year), move to the bottom of the screen and you will see the archived roll call votes. Simply click on a previous set of roll call votes in order to continue browsing.
After clicking on the appropriate roll, you will be taken to the Roll Call page. Scroll down to see how Congressman Levin voted on this measure.
There are three tables on this page, containing separately the names of those Congressmen who voted “Yea”, “Nay”, or did not cast a vote on the particular Roll Call vote. At the top of the page are the total numbers of votes in each category, the name of the bill or measure, and the number of the Roll Call vote.
How can I look up votes from previous years?
When visiting the Clerk’s website, instead of selecting the 114th congress, select the option which reads “Roll Call Votes of Previous Congresses”. Select which congress you are interested in, and push the “submit” button. After this, follow the remaining steps above to find the information you desire on each individual Roll Call vote page.
