Levin Statement on the Removal of Steve Bannon from White House

Aug 18, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Sander Levin (MI-09) today released the following statement after reports that Steve Bannon would no longer serve as Chief Strategist at the White House:

“Steve Bannon’s exit from the White House is long overdue. However, given President Trump’s agenda and especially after his comments this past week about the violence in Charlottesville, he has much more work to do to convince the American people that he eschews racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism, and is working to unite – not divide – our country.”

Yesterday, Rep. Levin led a group of 17 other Jewish Members of Congress calling on the President to fight racism and anti-Semitism. Levin criticized Bannon’s appointment when it was announced in November 2016.
