Supporting the American Rescue Plan
Dear Neighbor,
I hope this message finds you healthy and well! I want to remind CA-49 residents of the severity of the pandemic and share a few quick updates about my work to help get the virus under control.
This week, we made progress on the American Rescue Plan, a bold and comprehensive strategy to deal with both the public health and economic crises we face. As we continue to work on this relief plan, I’m fighting to make sure it addresses some of your top priorities, including:
- More federal assistance to quickly distribute vaccines
- Another round of direct payments and enhanced unemployment benefits
- Relief for small businesses through Paycheck Protection Program funds and other loans
- Federal funding to help schools reopen safely
Eradicating this pandemic and providing additional economic relief for the American people is our top priority, and I am working with the Administration and my colleagues in Congress to pass this critical relief legislation as soon as possible.
I know that many of you are looking for more information about how to get vaccines. The first thing you should do is contact your medical provider, but San Diego County and Orange County also have information available on their websites:

Also this week, I paid respects to US Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick as he laid in honor in the Capitol Rotunda. Tragically, Officer Sicknick was killed during the January 6 insurrection while defending our Capitol. He fought every day to uphold the Constitution and defend democracy, and his service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Please keep in mind the gravity of this virus and continue practicing all the mitigation efforts that help us keep each other safe, such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
Be sure to follow my Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages for more resources and the latest updates from my office.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Rep. Mike Levin
