Washington, D.C.- Today, Rep. “I’m honored to be appointed to the House Appropriations Committee which is tasked with allocating federal funds to districts to tackle pressing challenges from climate change to homelessness. As the only Member from San Diego and Orange Counties on the Committee, I look forward to building on my successful record of bringing over $1 billion in federal funding to the 49th Congressional District since entering Congress.

“This appointment will allow me to fight for resources and advocate for investments that will impact millions of residents, including funding for clean energy, housing, infrastructure, public safety, veterans’ services, and more. I will also focus on targeting resources to important issues in the 49th District including nuclear waste removal, sand replenishment efforts, protecting our rail corridor, and safety and barracks improvement at Camp Pendleton.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Appropriations Committee on a bipartisan basis to deliver results for Southern California.”

Previously known as the Committee on Caucus Procedures, the Committee on Caucus Rules (CCR) is responsible for evaluating and recommending changes to Democratic Caucus rules to best enhance the effectiveness and diversity of the House Democratic Caucus.
