Rep. Mike Levin Releases Progress Report for 116th Congress
Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) released a progress report highlighting the constituent service and legislative accomplishments he achieved on behalf of the 49th District during the 116th Congress.
Also, President Trump signed landmark legislation yesterday that Rep. Levin led to strengthen benefits and services for servicemembers, veterans, and their families. The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (H.R. 7105) includes many provisions Rep. Levin previously introduced to allow the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide more services for homeless veterans, improve the HUD-VA Supportive Housing program, improve the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) for servicemembers returning to civilian life, and much more.
“Since I was sworn in to serve the 49th District, I have worked tirelessly to deliver results on our local priorities, provide excellent constituent services, and remain as accessible and transparent as possible,” said Rep. Levin. “We made a lot of progress over the last two years, including 14 bipartisan bills signed into law total and more than $2 million saved for constituents through casework services, but we have much more work to do. I look forward to continuing that important work on behalf of North County San Diego and South Orange County in the 117th Congress.”
Highlights from Rep. Levin’s progress report:
- Introduced 53 pieces of legislation, including 18 bills and amendments that passed the House of Representatives, and another 14 bipartisan bills that have been signed into law by the President either individually or as part of a larger piece of legislation.
- Held 29 constituent coffees, more than 27 town halls, and responded to more than 115,000 constituent messages.
