Rep. Mike Levin Statement on His Continued Support for Ukraine
Oceanside, CA – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) issued the following statement on his continued support for Ukraine:
“Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a blatant assault on international law, freedom, and democracy itself. The United States’ military and humanitarian support for Ukraine is fundamental to defending our own values and national security interests, and it is paramount that we maintain military support for their defense. It is extremely troubling that Republican leader Kevin McCarthy suggests his party is ready to abandon aid for our ally and undermine our national security. I also could not disagree more strongly with the suggestion by some in my own party that negotiations with Vladimir Putin – a war criminal – are remotely appropriate now or will yield any acceptable result. I will continue to support military and humanitarian aid for our ally to defend their sovereign nation, and I strongly encourage my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to do the same.”
