Rep. Mike Levin Statement on Strike Targeting Al-Qaida Leader Ayman al-Zawahiri
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) issued the following statement on the successful strike targeting Al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri:
“Al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was a close partner of Osama bin Laden and a mastermind of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Thanks to President Biden’s leadership and the dedication of our intelligence community, al-Zawahiri received the justice he deserved, and the world is safer as a result. I am deeply grateful for the members of our intelligence community and military who have been committed to bringing al-Zawhiri to justice for many years, and did so without harming civilians. This strike is a reminder to terrorists who wish harm on our country that we will find you, and we will ensure you cannot threaten the American people.”
