Rep. Mike Levin Opposes House Republicans’ Partisan Government Funding Bill That Increases Health Care Costs

Washington, D.C.—Today, Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) released the following statement on his vote against House Republicans’ partisan government funding bill:

“I made my position clear: I would not support a partisan government funding bill that puts the health care of millions of Americans at risk.”

“House Republicans chose to shut us out of the negotiating room and offered a short-term government funding extension that does nothing to protect the 600,000 Californians who lose health care next year or the millions of others who will see premiums increase. It is simply unacceptable.

“If House Republicans are serious about delivering a government funding bill that addresses the urgent needs of the American people, they should work with us on a bipartisan basis on legislation that keeps the government open for the entirety of Fiscal Year 2026 while also protecting health care. I’m committed to working towards that goal.”
