Rep. Mike Levin Statement on Appointment of CA Secretary of State Alex Padilla to United States Senate
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) issued the following statement on the appointment of California Secretary of State Alex Padilla to fill Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’s seat in the U.S. Senate.
“I am very excited to join Californians in celebrating Governor Gavin Newsom’s historic appointment of Secretary of State Alex Padilla to serve in the U.S. Senate. I have known Secretary Padilla for many years, and I’ve seen him fiercely defend our voting rights and protect our elections. As a fellow Southern Californian and the first Latino to represent our state in the U.S. Senate, I know he will continue to serve Californians honorably. I look forward to working with him to provide more relief for Californians during this pandemic, protect our environment, and so much more.”
