Rep. Mike Levin to Host Black History Month Town Hall and Education Forum
San Juan Capistrano, CA – This week, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (CA-49) will host two virtual events with local Black leaders in recognition of Black History Month. On Wednesday, he will host a virtual town hall with Reverend Madison Shockley, pastor of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad, to discuss their efforts to address systemic racial injustice and answer constituents’ questions on a range of issues. Constituents can submit questions for the town hall by emailing MLevin.Press@mail.house.gov and including their first name and city.
On Friday, Rep. Levin will host a forum with local Black leaders in education to discuss inequity in schools and policies to ensure that all students receive a high quality education regardless of their race, ethnicity, or zip code.
