Rep. Mike Levin’s Statement on His Vote for the National Defense Authorization Act
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) released the following statement regarding his vote in favor of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
“I voted in favor of the 2025 NDAA because it rightfully gives our service members a long-awaited and much needed raise. In particular, this NDAA gives a 14.5% raise to junior enlisted service members. I’ve heard from service members in my district that their current pay is not enough to cover the high cost of living and meet their families’ needs. This bill makes long-overdue progress to improve the quality of life for our service members,” said Rep. Mike Levin. “Unfortunately, this NDAA also was used as a political culture war tool despite the more than sixty-year record of bipartisan compromise on the legislation. It’s beyond disappointing that Mike Johnson and Congressional Republicans are using the NDAA for partisan gamesmanship instead of solely addressing the complex needs of our military personnel.”
