Committee assignments are in!

Dear Neighbor,

I want you to know that my top priority is getting more COVID relief to our communities so we can beat this virus and help our economy recover. I’m optimistic we can meet this moment with the American Rescue Plan.

While I work to bring this relief back to CA-49, I could use your input, so please don’t hesitate to contact my office to share your pressing questions or concerns.

Please find below a few other updates you may be interested in.

New Congress, Same Committees

I am honored to serve as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and once again Chair the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. I look forward to building on the bipartisan progress we have made for our veterans so far. I know Chairman Takano and all of our colleagues on the Committee are dedicated to doing that important work, and I look forward to serving with them again.

I am also thrilled to return to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and the Natural Resources Committee. I'm eager to pursue more legislative opportunities under President Biden’s Administration, especially on our urgent needs regarding the climate crisis.

There is extraordinary opportunity to grow our economy and combat the climate crisis at the same time, and my colleagues and I are ready to get to work!

In my latest podcast episode, I speak with my friend and colleague Rep. Karen Bass and North County San Diego NAACP President Satia Austin about federal policies that will lift Black communities, address systemic racial injustice in our country, and much more.
