Representative Levin to Serve on House Veterans Affairs, Natural Resources Committees
Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) announced that he will serve on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, and the House Natural Resources Committees, two critical issue areas for constituents of California’s 49th Congressional District.
“I am honored to serve on the House Veterans Affairs and Natural Resources Committees, both of which will debate critical issues with direct impacts on the communities I represent,” said Representative Levin. “As the grandson of a World War II veteran and the representative of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, one of my top priorities is advocating for active duty service members and veterans who have sacrificed for our freedom.
“I also look forward to bringing my expertise as an environmental lawyer and clean energy advocate to the Natural Resources Committee. The quality of life in our communities depends on the health of our coastline and precious natural resources, and I will do everything in my power to protect them,” added Representative Levin.
Levin is a vocal advocate for active duty service members and veterans. He has spoken out about the importance of protecting the V.A. from privatization efforts, improving veterans health care and services, and expanding job opportunities for those who have served.
Representative Levin is poised to bring his expertise as a former energy and environmental attorney to the House Natural Resources Committee. In addition to his legal work, Levin served on the board of the Center for Sustainable Energy, and co-founded Sustain OC, helping accelerate the transition toward more sustainable power generation and transportation alternatives. Throughout his career, Levin has been a passionate leader on environmental protection, clean energy, and combating climate change. He is a member of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC).
